Internet Access

The Hacienda del Sol 1 is happy to provide free internet access to our residents and guests. To configure a Windows PC for WI-FI access:
  1. Your PC must have WI-FI capability. Most modern laptops include this, but most desktop computers do not.
  2. Click on the small picture of a computer screen in the lower right corner of your task bar.
  3. Your PC will display a window titled “View Wireless Network”. This window will contain a list of all wireless networks the computer can detect.
  4. Each of the listed networks will have a signal strength diagram next to it. Look for the networks named HDS1 and HDS2, then select the one with the stronger signal.
  5. Click on the “Connect” button. Your PC will display another window prompting you for the network key. Enter “donnaron” (all lower case), then click connect.
  6. After few seconds, your PC will connect to the network.
  7. Close the connection windows and start your web browser.
To configure an Apple Macintosh for WI-FI access
  1. Your Mac must have WI-FI capability. Most laptops include this, but most desktops do not.
  2. Click on the small picture of four arches in the upper right corner of your screen.
  3. Your Mac will list all wireless networks it can detect.
  4. Each of the listed networks will have a signal strength diagram next to it. Look for the networks named HDS1 and HDS2, then select the one with the stronger signal.
  5. Click on the “Connect” button. Your Mac will display another window prompting you for a password. Enter “donnaron” (all lower case), then click connect.
  6. After few seconds, your Mac will connect to the network.
To configure WI-FI access for a Linux-based computer:
  1. Your PC must have WI-FI capability. Most laptops include this, but most desktops do not.
  2. Click on the small picture of a square and a wire in the task bar. This is the Network Manager icon.
  3. The PC will respond with a list of the wireless networks it can detect.
  4. Each of the listed networks will have a signal strength diagram next to it. Look for the networks named HDS1 and HDS2, then select the one with the stronger signal.
  5. Click on the “Connect” button. Your PC will display another window prompting you for a network key. Enter “donnaron” (all lower case), then click connect.
  6. After few seconds, your PC will connect to the network.
